Hello,
Seekers of Advice
Today's
letter, is D--as in depression. I know what you're thinking (who
wants to talk about depression?) Truth is, this is a topic rarely
discussed. It may be because, not many realize how serious depression
is. When depression is addressed, the solutions are often in the form
of counseling or medication. Counseling is a great way to fight
depression. However, medication can add to existing problems or
additional. If your medication is working for you, and you're just
fine with it. By all means continue to take your medication.
My
Advice to people suffering from depression, is what I call a
combination. this combination consists of counseling, and a safe
haven within your mind. What I mean is, the best way to deal with
depression is to think about how you wish for your life to be. It is
a great way to help mend the mind.
However,
It can be harmful to stay in your happy place all the time. Because,
you can fall out of touch with reality.Use that happy place, as a way
to work on accomplishing your goals. If you can picture yourself a
more successful and healthier you. Then you can unfold the steps and
secrets to reach that you. Your safe haven can also be a hobby,
listening to music, drawing, or watching your favorite movies.
Nevertheless,
it is always good to talk to someone. Mainly, the one person
that truly understands you. If you
can't rely on friends, family, or your spouse. A great option is a
counselor. Remember depression is only as strong as you allow it to
be. With that said, it can be beat!
Sincerely,
Your
Advisor...
